Job Description

Gymboree Play & Music in San Diego is looking for Playful, Confident and Creative teachers, with a passion for play and working with children (0-5 years) and their caregivers. Excellent customer service and group facilitation skills are a must, as is the ability to work as part of a team. 

Successful candidates are dynamic and self-starting teachers who can manage a preschool classroom with 3-5 year olds.  Candidates must also be able to lead activities with a song and engage parents and toddlers in play activities. They provide outstanding customer service, meet sales goals, and seek to improve everyday. 

Teachers will lesson plan, teach classes, work the computer, answer phones and clean play equipment and props.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Great Communication Skills: Classroom, individual, phone
Strong work ethic- we work hard
Playful and energetic teaching style
Pleasant and tuneful singing voice
Experience working with young children a plus, you must be comfortable working with infants through preschoolers.
Customer service/sales experience preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate play and learning classes for parents and infants/toddlers/preschoolers using Gymboree's curriculum.
Provide excellent customer service.
Consult with families to sell an appropriate learning program.
Uphold Gymboree's high standards of a clean, healthy, organized environment.

HOURS
We have part time positions available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends for Play & Learn teachers at our San Diego County location (Clairemont Mesa). Opportunity for promotion to full-time employment is based upon performance. 

COMPENSATION
Part-Time Teacher Pay: $12 an hour. 

REQUIREMENTS
All employees must be fully trained prior to starting regular teaching shifts. Training is paid and typically lasts about 6 weeks. 

Once trained, employees are required to work regularly scheduled shifts and to attend monthly staff meetings. We are looking for long-term, committed employees.
