Paws With A Cause is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dog and People Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for training Clients to utilize Assistance Dogs and will be based in the Southeast Michigan area. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek and a salary range of $21-$25/hour. The successful candidate will be responsible for training dogs and their handlers, as well as providing support to Clients.
Responsibilities:
- Train Assistance Dogs and their handlers to work together as a team
- Provide support to Clients in the use of Assistance Dogs
- Conduct training sessions for Clients and their Assistance Dogs
- Develop and implement training plans for Assistance Dogs and their handlers
- Evaluate the progress of Assistance Dogs and their handlers
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress
- Provide ongoing support to Clients and their Assistance Dogs
- Drive within a 3-hour radius in the Southeast Michigan area
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dog and people training
- Passion for training Clients to utilize Assistance Dogs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
