Public Works Administrative Coordinator Location Ridgefield, WA :

SALARY RANGE : $27.80 - $36.61/Hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of professional technical, routine, and non-routine administrative services which contribute to efficient operations of the Public Works Department.

The PW Coordinator:

  • Provides complex and advanced level customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Prepares and processes work orders received from the public and other City departments.
  • Processes property damage claims.
  • Coordinates asset management software and provides support for fleet management.
  • Updates and maintains departmental records, filing systems, databases and/or policy manuals.
  • During inclement weather, this position is required to work in the office even if other City offices may be closed.

Public Works Coordinator is a regular, full-time (part-time will be considered), non-exempt position. The position is covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Teamsters Local 58 and the City of Ridgefield.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities may be considered.

The City is seeking an experienced and professional Administrative Coordinator with:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Two years experience involving significant interaction with the general public; experience with a local government entity and/or Public Works is preferred;
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and systems;
  • Ability to learn, manage projects, work independently and effectively on multiple tasks with interruptions, be self-motivated and have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Energy, creativity, sound judgment and the ability to work at times with minimal direction.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

The City of Ridgefield's Public Works Department supports the community's quality of life and economic vitality by managing the planning, design, construction, and operation of all City-owned public infrastructure to meet the needs of the community. As the city of Ridgefield continues to rapidly grow, the Ridgefield Public Works Department has and will be responsible for designing, managing construction of, and maintaining, a variety of key assets including streets, sidewalks, water rights/wells, stormwater facilities, community parks and even a City cemetery.

Department employees work closely with the Community Development Department to provide design guidelines, requirements and oversight for the development and installation of all capital and development projects associated with the new and existing infrastructure, which are vital to the community.
