B&M Precision, Inc. is looking for a strong manufacturing Planning Manager with a minimum of 5 years experience specifically in production planning and quality control principles to join our medical device manufacturing company.

B&M Precision has been in business for over 45 years, family owned, manufacturing quality surgical blades and burrs for the medical industry in Ruskin, Florida.

The Production Planning Manager will organize production according to our customer demand and quality standards. Ensuring our products are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. They will manage the overall activity of the Shipping/Receiving, Materials and Planning Departments.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Shipping & Receiving, Materials and Planning Departments
• Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan and schedule production operations. Ensure maximum performance with minimum delay
• Immediately address issues when they arise, escalating when necessary and aiming for minimum disruption. Report any major changes in ship volumes, flow of revenue, breach of contract, or a shift in company trajectory to Director of Operations and/or Upper Management representative
• Translate forecast of material requirements from all departments into a production plan that achieves company revenue and development goals
• Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand. Report any deficiencies and recommendations to the Director of Operations and/or Upper Management representative
• Hold regular conference calls with Customer representatives to ensure company success and to develop / foster productive and favorable relationships with our Customers
• Hold direct reports accountable to their job functions and responsibilities
• Develop action plans for direct reports and foster positive development in their roles
• Meet with subordinates regularly. Encourage teamwork and enable cross-functional training within the Shipping, Materials, and Planning groups. Ensure competency in all areas of these departments.
• Monitor production progress to ensure customer orders are completed on time and within budget
• Coordinate with Managers in planning and implementing engineering changes on production floor
• Collaborate with quality control, production and other pertinent staff daily/weekly
• Assist in developing and optimizing use of ERP processes for the team’s success, particularly in the supply chain sector
• Review all relevant SOPs, work instructions, and activities for the Materials, Shipping, and Planning departments to ensure compliance to ISO 13485 and any other applicable regulatory requirements. Execute improvements and trainings as needed
• Develop systems for capacity planning and identify opportunities for improvement
• Develop and report metrics for assessing supplier performance, cost performance, on-time delivery and other company KPIs
• Procure all material needs for the company. Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure material availability and delivery
• Participate in Management Review and all other company activities / meetings that facilitate company assessments, improvements, and growth. Prepare reports and give presentations to the team as required
• Schedule meetings with associates to address issues as needed
• Assist other managers with tasks as needed. Participate in projects as required

Qualifications and Experience:

• Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
• Experience using and enhancing ERP systems, with an emphasis on MRP, is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Planning/Materials Management required
• Must possess strong social and communications skills to build relationships across departments and understand all company needs
• Prior experience in manufacturing industries
• Well-versed in production procedures and related methods of optimization
• Organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills
• Excels at math and statistics
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Work Environment: The work environment consists of both typical office as well as time on the manufacturing floor as required for training, instruction, investigations, etc.

** This is not a remote position, requires reporting to the manufacturing shop daily.

Schedule: Monday thru Thursday: (7:30am - 5pm) & Friday: (7:30am- 11:30am)
