Job Title: Legal Billing Specialist
Location: Remote (LATAM Preferred)
Compensation: $1,600 - $2,000 USD per month

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join our team. This is not an entry-level position; we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running with minimal training. If you have prior experience in legal billing for a U.S. law firm and are comfortable managing multiple billing tasks while maintaining strong communication with attorneys, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Billing Management:

  • Monitor retainer balances and ensure proper allocation.
  • Follow up with attorneys to obtain billing hours and retainer updates.

• Attorney Engagement:

  • Place attorneys into the billing system and manage related processes.
  • Proactively communicate with attorneys to gather all necessary billing information.

• System Utilization:

  • Work with Clio or similar legal billing systems to input and manage billing data efficiently.

• Follow-Up & Communication:

  • Maintain ongoing communication with attorneys to ensure all billing information is received on time.
  • Be persistent and unafraid to follow up multiple times to get the required details.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience:

  • 2+ years as a Legal Billing Specialist or similar role, preferably in a U.S. law firm.
  • Strong understanding of legal billing processes and practices.

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in Clio or similar legal billing software is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to "bother" and follow up as needed without hesitation.

• Location:

  • Based in Latin America.
