Requirements
- Teach Russian language skills including listening reading writing and speaking within an immersive highenergy environment.
- Integrate geopolitical economic and social issues of Russianspeaking regions into the curriculum enhancing students cultural competency.
- Utilize technologyenhanced teaching methods including Smart Boards iPads and online resources to deliver engaging lessons and homework assignments.
- Develop organize and adapt teaching materials using computer software to meet curriculum goals.
- Stay updated on current foreign language teaching theories methodologies and technologies to maintain a high standard of instruction.
Requirements
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Russian and English with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages.
Educational Background:
- Master s degree in any discipline OR
- Bachelor s degree in any discipline with at least one year of experience in language instruction.
- Experience: Previous experience in formal classroom instruction (high school level or above) including lesson preparation course modification testing tutoring and structured counseling.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using digital resources and classroom technology such as Smart Boards and online platforms.
Conditions of Employment
- Work Authorization: U.S. citizens or nonU.S. citizens with a valid U.S. work authorization.
- Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
- Term Appointment: This is a tenuretrack timelimited position for up to 36 months subject to mission needs funding and management discretion.

Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in Russian (speaking, reading, and writing). Strong fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) for clear communication with students and colleagues. Teaching and Instructional Skills: Experience in formal classroom instruction, especially in teaching Russian as a foreign language. Skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, course modification, testing, and structured counseling. Ability to create a student-centered, immersive learning environment. Technological Proficiency: Experience with classroom technology, including Smart Boards, iPads, and other digital teaching tools. Familiarity with using digital resources to enhance learning, such as online platforms and digital assignments. Cultural Competence: Strong understanding of Russian culture, including geopolitical, economic, and social issues relevant to Russian-speaking regions. Ability to incorporate cultural knowledge into language lessons to create a holistic learning experience. Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Openness to staying current with language teaching theories, methodologies, and evolving best practices. Ability to adapt to new instructional methods and technologies as needed. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Clear, effective communication skills in both Russian and English. Ability to provide constructive feedback and engage with students in a supportive, motivating manner. Organizational Skills: Proficiency in organizing data and materials for lesson planning, grading, and administrative reporting. Strong time management skills to balance teaching responsibilities with faculty development activities.
