Skyborne Opportunity

We are looking for skilled and talented Chief Inspector, who will be responsible to the Head of Maintenance and Quality Assurance Supervisor for the overall operation of the Inspection Department. In addition, the Chief Inspector is responsible for implementing the details of inspection standards, methods and procedures used by the Repair Station in complying with all applicable Code of Federal Regulations, manufacturer’s specifications, and recommendations. It is the inspector responsibility to train and supervise all the Repair Station Inspectors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with the Head of Maintenance (HOM) at the start of shift to determine which aircraft are to be inspected that day.
  • Updating the AcMP Planning Board throughout the day and end of shift.
  • Supervise and prioritizing the technicians assigned to your team in an efficient manner to maximize aircraft availability.
  • Provide support and training when needed for technicians performing new tasks.
  • Inspecting Required Inspection Items (RII) listed in the Progressive Inspection Programs.
  • Inspecting the completed work when requested by technicians for quality of work performed and to ensure the area being inspected is free of discrepancies.
  • First level PTO approvals, when PTO is requested, you are to ensure that the loss of the technician should not impact the operations negatively. 
  • Be responsible for the following: to ensure the completion of the Progressive Inspection sign offs in the RSTM during initial training in a timely manner. To ensure that Supervisors and Inspectors are providing technician development training with respect to accepted maintenance practices, Repair Station procedures and educating personnel in proper safety precautions and providing the documentation to support provided training. To support the QAS during recurrent training meetings.
  • Training and supervising all Inspectors to ensure a standardized inspection process of work performed and the completion of training forms to document such training.
  • Ascertain that all inspections / repairs are properly performed in accordance with the RSM and Federal Regulations. All the work orders and inspection packets are to be completed, signed off and audited before it is approved for return to service.
  • Assuring that all Supervisors and Inspectors are holding the technicians and personnel in the maintenance department responsible for maintaining a consistent quality of workmanship.
  • To ensure that all calibrated tools are inspected prior to their use for condition and that the calibration sticker is attached, legible and that the calibration date has not expired.
  • Accomplish the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed by subcontractors.
  • To ensure that no rejected, defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or article released by the Repair Station and ensuring the proper identification of such parts as stated in this Manual.
  • The conducting of preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspection of all articles processed by the Repair Station and their recorded results as outlined in this manual.
  • Provide for continuity of inspection responsibility, assuring completion of required inspection when personnel shift or assignment changes occur.
  • Maintaining the Repair Station facilities, equipment, and tools in a clean and orderly fashion so as to present a professional image.
  • Ascertaining that a sufficient supply of firefighting and safety equipment is provided in hangars, shops, on the ramps, and vehicles and for their replacement after use.

NOTE: The Chief Inspector may delegate all duties to any qualified assistant as necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the Chief Inspector of the overall responsibilities.

Qualifications



Professional requirements are as follows:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Inspection Authorization Certificate 
  • 5 years Repair Station Experience
  • 5 of which in General Aviation
  • 15 years in Aviation Maintenance
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain strong customer orientation under challenging circumstances.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Contingent to employment, all candidates must pass a drug screening and background check, along with TSA badging-if required for your role.
