We are currently seeking a Brand and Communications Manager to join Kirtland FCU.

The Brand & Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive, integrated brand communications strategies to establish and maintain a favorable image and reputation for the Kirtland Credit Union brand among internal and external stakeholders, members, and audiences. This position will manage a team responsible for developing and implementing brand communications projects, digital and social media plans, and developing creative, compelling content for distribution across the KCU network, including web properties and paid, shared, and owned media. This position will provide strategic communications advice, counsel LOBs/departments, and work with external agencies, consultants, and vendors to drive proactive and reactive communications initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of marketing initiatives supporting product verticals and the Kirtland Credit Union brand.
  • Drive creativity and innovation in marketing initiatives and messaging to achieve business objectives.

  • Strategic Brand and Credit Union Communications Leadership:
    • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic brand communications plans to support credit union objectives, aiming to enhance the favorable brand image and reputation among targeted audiences, including members, employees, consumers, and media.
    • Develop and maintain community and media relations, including crafting and managing social media communications and statements for the credit union, while also establishing and overseeing related procedures.
    • Key driver for all external communications

  • Brand Messaging Oversight:
    • Write, review, edit, approve, disseminate, and coordinate key brand messaging across all platforms and promotional materials, encompassing web, print, digital, outdoor, video, radio, etc.
    • Ensure that key brand message points are communicated clearly and consistently to resonate with key audiences, reinforcing the value of the credit union.
    • Conduct research to test messaging effectiveness.
    • Collaborate and coordinate with the Marketing team, LOB management, and ELT as needed to ensure alignment and create synergies across all media platforms.
    • Review all materials produced for the branded business, internally or through third-party vendors, to ensure the effectiveness of the brand voice and look for various target audiences.

  • Visual Language Ownership:
    • Manage Kirtland CU's visual language, including photography, video, copy, font selection, layout, etc., ensuring clear consistency and compelling storytelling through brand standards.
    • Brand Creative Direction: Develop brand creative direction aligned with business goals and consumer insights, consistently refining and evolving strategies to engage consumers innovatively.
    • UI/UX Collaboration: Participate in UI/UX efforts across all digital touchpoints to enhance user experiences.

  • Data-driven Decision Making :
    • Apply data insights to drive creative solutions and inform future initiatives.
    • Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape to guide strategic decision-making.

  • Team Supervision and Development:
    • Supervise marketing personnel, providing leadership, guidance, and performance management.
    • Manage the creative team, nurturing talent, providing feedback, and ensuring effective utilization of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Design or relevant field preferred, or equivalent work experience/demonstrated knowledge in creative design, communication, project management, brand development and marketing standards.
  • Five+ years in creative process, marketing, graphic design and brand development.
  • Five+ years of related experience with 5+ years of creative direction.
  • Must have understanding and experience creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, paid media, mobile, and print.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and project management software.
  • Experience with concept development.
  • Extensive experience in omni-channel environments.
